SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. — One year after the debut of RightRice, a vegetable-forward alternative to conventional rice, the company is introducing RightRice Medley, a new twist on rice pilaf.

To create the new product, RightRice, a blend of more than 90% lentils, chickpeas and green peas and less than 10% rice, is combined with vegetables and ancient grains, including quinoa and sorghum and more vegetables. The medleys are non-G.M.O., gluten-free, vegan and kosher and deliver 8 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving. RightRice Medley is available in a trio of flavors: Harvest Pilaf, with carrots and pumpkin seeds; Fried Rice, with Asian spices and peas; and Cajun Spice, with New Orleans flavors.

RightRice Medley has launched nationwide in Whole Foods Market and on Amazon.com and retails for $4.99 per 7-oz pouch.

“Whole Foods Market and Amazon are the perfect partners to launch RightRice Medley and give us the opportunity to bring even more innovation to the rice category,” said Keith Belling, founder of RightRice and founder of Popchips. “Introducing Medleys and doubling our on-shelf presence with the No. 1 natural foods retailer in the country within a year of debuting RightRice is a remarkable validation for our new brand.”
