PURCHASE, NY. — Keto-friendly snack brand Hilo Life is debuting cheese puffs in cheddar and fiery hot flavors. The products contain 3 grams of net carbohydrates and 12 grams of protein per serving with no added sugar.

Hilo Life is owned by Inviting Foods LLC, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc. Earlier this year, the brand introduced tortilla-style chips formulated with defatted almond flour. Hilo Life also offers cheese and nut snack mixes.

Hilo Life Snack Puffs are available online at hilolife.com and Amazon.com for a suggested retail price of $21.99 for 12 single-serving bags. The products are formulated with skim cheese powder, high-oleic sunflower oil, hydrolyzed pea protein, tapioca starch, tapioca fiber and cheddar cheese.

“Consumers have a burning passion for snacks with that hot and cheesy flavor, and our new Snack Puffs nail this popular taste combination in a way that maximizes flavor and crunch, while minimizing net carbs,” said Amanda Cheung, brand director for Hilo Life. “Carb counters tell us they miss their favorite snacks, and we’re on a mission to combat that ‘Nosh-talgia’ and bring to market innovations that offer bold flavors and crunchy texture with net carbs you can count on one hand.”
