NEW YORK — North African, minority-owned Mina is bringing Moroccan flavors to shelves with its line of ready-to-eat lentil, chickpea and white bean stews and soup.

The shelf stable line features four vegan options:

  • Hummus Moroccan chickpea stew: a blend of chickpeas, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon.
  • Addis Moroccan lentil stew: a blend of lentils, tomatoes, onion, garlic, cilantro, parsley, cumin, paprika, ginger and turmeric.
  • Loubia Moroccan white bean stew: a mix of white beans, tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, parsley, cumin, paprika, ginger and turmeric
  • Harira Moroccan chickpea and lentil soup: a blend of chickpeas, lentils, tomatoes, cilantro, parsley, celery, herbs and spices.

The stews and soups may be heated with no additional cooking, and pair with rice or bread, according to the company. They are Non-GMO Project certified, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, dairy-free, soy-free and BPA-free. They also join Mina’s existing portfolio of products like harissa, shakshuka and tagine simmer sauces, preserved lemons and more.

Mina’s Moroccan lentil, chickpea and white bean stews and soup line is available nationwide at Whole Foods Market locations.

“Tradition runs deep in our family kitchen, and our mother Mina’s recipes are at the heart of it all,” said Fouad Kallamni, founder of Mina. “Warm, inviting aromas would fill the air as her pot simmered with rich blends of fresh ingredients, herbs and spices. Now, we transported this flavorful legacy of traditional stewed beans from Mina’s stove in Morocco to your modern table.”
