KILKENNY, IRELAND — Glanbia has appointed Hugh McGuire as its new chief executive officer. Mr. McGuire will succeed Siobhán Talbot, who is retiring from the company.
Mr. McGuire is currently CEO of Glanbia performance nutrition but will now lead Glanbia PLC as CEO.
“I am honored and delighted to have been appointed as the next CEO of Glanbia, an organization I have been proud to serve over the last 20 years,” Mr. McGuire said. “It is a business and a sector that is closely aligned to my own passions and values and I’ve been privileged to be part of its transformation journey. Siobhán leaves Glanbia in a very strong position for future growth and I’d like to sincerely thank her for all her support over the years. My focus will be to build upon these strong foundations for the benefit of all stakeholders in the years to come.”
Mr. McGuire joined the company in 2003 and has held several senior leadership positions within the company. Mr. McGuire initially began in the ingredients division having served as CEO of Glanbia Customized Solutions. He was named CEO of Glanbia’s performance nutrition business in 2008.
He holds a master’s degree from University College in Dublin and a diploma in accounting and finance from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants Ireland.
Glanbia is a global nutrition group and has operations in 32 countries with applications in sports nutrition, cheese, dairy ingredients, specialty non-dairy ingredients and vitamin and mineral premixes, according to the company.
