LOUISVILLE, KY. — DDW, The Color House has acquired the KleurCraft portfolio of coloring foods, custom formulations and related technology from SVZ International B.V. A sourcing agreement will align SVZ’s expertise in agronomy, fruit and vegetable cultivation, and juice processing with DDW’s color proficiency, applications, competence and sales channels.
KleurCraft, based in Breda, The Netherlands, was a division of SVZ International, a global fruit and vegetable business, and also part of the Royal Cosun group of companies. KleurCraft focuses on red, orange and yellow colors by using fruits and vegetables. For examples, black carrots produce a spectrum of red colors, orange carrots provide shades within the orange color wheel, safflowers are used for yellow, red beets contain the pigment betanin for pink colors, and elderberries create dark-red and blue-purple colors.
