Ghost pepper extract is on the way from Kalsec.
KALAMAZOO, MICH. — Kalsec plans to add cayenne, pasilla and ghost pepper extract to its specialty pepper product line in response to consumer demand for more specialized heat/hot flavors, according to the company. The peppers are extracted in the United States using proprietary expeller-press technology.
Kalsec will launch the new chili pepper varieties during the Institute of Food Technologists’ annual meeting and food exposition July 11-14 in Chicago. Other Kalsec specialty peppers include ancho, guajillo, habanero, jalapeño, poblano and Szechuan.
