MINNEAPOLIS – General Mills is catering to health-conscious consumers and children with its lineup of new products this winter.

In the health and wellness category, General Mills’ Nature Valley brand is introducing four new product lines, one  featuring biscuits, one featuring cereals, one featuring granola bars, and one featuring granola clusters.

Nature Valley Biscuits with Nut Butter feature peanut butter or almond butter sandwiched between two whole grain oat biscuits. Available in Honey Biscuit with Peanut Butter and Cinnamon Biscuit with Almond Butter varieties, the biscuits offer 14 grams of whole grains per serving.

The brand also introduced Sweet & Spicy bars. These granola bars are mixed with dark chocolate chunk, nuts, seeds and cayenne pepper then dipped in chocolate coating.

Nature Valley launched three new cereals, each with at least 10 grams of protein per serving including milk. The Baked Oat Bites cereal consists of cinnamon baked oat bites with a light, sweet drizzle. The Honey Oat Clusters cereal offers a mix of honey granola clusters, corn and what flakes with a bit of honey. The Chocolate Oat Clusters cereal features chocolate granola clusters, corn and wheat flakes and chunks of chocolate.

Nature Valley also is unveiling its new Granola Crunch. Each re-sealable pouch includes more than 21 granola bars broken up into bite-sized clusters. It comes in two flavors: Oats & Honey and Cinnamon.

The Cascadian Farms brand is bringing two new product lines to market. The brand is offering four new pouch granolas featuring simple ingredients and 5 to 7 grams of sugar per ¼-cup serving. The granola is available in Honey Almond Chia, Vanilla Coconut Pumpkin Seed, Cherry Almond Quinoa, and Cranberry Maple Wild Rice varieties.

Cascadian Farm also is introducing Soft Baked Oatmeal Squares. Made with organic ingredients like Fair Trade chocolate and whole grain oats, the squares come in Oats & Chocolate and Wild Blueberry flavors.

General Mills’ Yoplait Plenti and Annie’s brands are releasing new yogurts. Yoplait Plenti is unveiling its new Plenti Oatmeal Meets Greek Yogurt. The ready-to-eat blend of Greek yogurt and oatmeal is available in 6 flavors: blueberry, apple cinnamon, maple brown sugar, peach, strawberry and vanilla. Annie’s brand is launching a line of organic yogurt. Made with organic fruit and whole milk, the yogurt is available in Summer Strawberry, Berry Patch and Very Vanilla flavors.

In the children’s department, General Mills’ Pillsbury brand is offering new Cheesy Pull-Aparts for school lunches. Containing no artificial colors or flavors, the bread features oven-baked Pillsbury bread stuffed with cheese. The pull-aparts are available in Mozzarella & Garlic and Spicy Buffalo varieties.

Catering to the superhero-loving children, General Mills teamed up with Warner Brothers to create Batman and Superman cereals. Each box includes Batman-shaped chocolate strawberry pieces or caramel crunch pieces shaped like Superman’s shield.

General Mills’ Betty Crocker Brand is offering Frozen Chocolate Chip Oat Crisps and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cinnamon Oat Crisps. The biscuits feature imprints of Olaf or the Turtles, and each serving provides 14 grams of whole grains and 8 grams or less of sugar.

Featuring more characters kids love, General Mills’ Yoplait brand is introducing yogurt featuring Marvel’s Captain America and Iron Man and Disney and Pixar’s Dory. The kids’ yogurt is available in four flavors: Marvel Raspberry Reactor, Marvel Strawberrium, Finding Dory Fin-Tastic Cherry, and Finding Dory Sea-sational Strawberry.
