LOS ANGELES — Southern California McDonald’s restaurants will be adding breakfast bowls and Chobani Greek yogurt to menus this spring. The restaurant chain said the additions are in an effort to create a new customer experience.
“Today consumers are looking for choices and food customized to their taste,” said Clay Paschen III, McDonald’s owner/operator and president of the McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California. “McDonald’s wants to be able to provide our guest with those options. McDonald’s breakfast bowls and Chobani Greek yogurt offerings will stretch the range of fast food options, inviting customers to eat more foods when pressed for time.”
The breakfast bowls will be available in two varieties, egg white and turkey sausage and scrambled egg and chorizo. The egg white and turkey sausage menu item has 250 calories and 27 grams of protein, according to the company.
Chobani will be added to the menu as an ingredient in McDonald’s Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfaits and McCafe Smoothies. The smoothies and parfaits will be a part of the restaurant chain’s Simple Delights menu.
Participating Southern California McDonald’s restaurants will offer McCafé Smoothies and Fruit ‘N Yogurt Parfaits made with Chobani Greek Yogurt all day. Breakfast Bowls will be available during normal breakfast hours and priced at $4.39.
