A new lineup of menu items at Chipotle Mexican Grill taps into popular diets. Lifestyle Bowls are available in four varieties: Whole30 Salad Bowl, featuring romaine lettuce, carnitas, fajita vegetables, tomato salsa and guacamole; Paleo Salad Bowl, with romaine lettuce, barbacoa, fajita vegetables, green salsa and guacamole; Keto Salad Bowl, with romaine lettuce, carnitas, red salsa, cheese and guacamole; and Double Protein Bowl, which has white rice, black beans, chicken, steak, red salsa, romaine lettuce and sour cream.
Dunkin’ is debuting two new menu items for the new year.
The Power Breakfast Sandwich is a better-for-you handheld that packs 24 grams of protein, 20 grams of whole grains and 370 calories. The sandwich features a veggie egg white omelet with spinach, peppers, onions, turkey sausage and American cheese on a new multigrain sandwich bread topped with seeds and rolled oats.
The new Energy Cold Brew is Dunkin’s signature cold brew coffee with a shot of espresso.
Sonic is serving the new Hearty Chili Bowl, made with beef, beans, seasonings and a full serving of vegetables. The 140-calorie chili may be eaten solo or customers may add Fritos, shredded cheese and diced onions.
Planet Smoothie is seeking to support consumers in their wellness goals with the launch of three new Blasted with Benefits Smoothies.
The Fat Burner Fit Smoothie features cocoa, almond milk, bananas, frozen yogurt, nonfat milk and cayenne plus a Fat Burner Blast, which boosts metabolism, Planet Smoothie said. The smoothie contains 190 calories.
The Immune Defense Smoothie, weighing in at 280 calories, is made with orange juice, pineapple, strawberries and an Immunity Blast.
The Power Protein Smoothie is blended with bananas, blueberries, peanut butter, frozen yogurt, nonfat milk and a Whey Protein Blast. It contains 26 grams of protein and 450 calories.
Coconut milk has arrived at Caribou Coffee and is starring in three new Coconut Milk Lattes: the Pomegranate Acai Tea Latte, the Cold Press Latte and the Matcha Tea Latte.
Additionally, the coffee chain is adding low-carb, high-protein souffles to its food offerings. Containing fewer than 310 calories, the souffles come in two varieties: Bacon Gouda Souffle and Mushroom, Spinach & Swiss Souffle, which is also vegetarian.
White Castle is expanding its smorgasboard of sliders with the new Sloppy Joe Slider. The small sandwich features lean ground beef in a sweet and tangy sauce with garden vegetables, including onions, tomatoes and bell peppers, all topped with smoked cheddar cheese and served on a slider bun.
KFC is heating up its menu with the new Spicy Famous Bowl, featuring mashed potatoes, sweet corn, fried chicken and gravy topped with three shredded cheeses and a drizzle of Nashville Hot sauce.

The Beyond Famous Star is a flexitarian take on the Carl’s Jr. brand’s signature Famous Star burger, featuring a charbroiled quarter-pound patty topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, dill pickles, special sauce and mayonnaise on a seeded bun.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is bolstering its slate of sides with new Black Eyed Peas. The dish features black eyed peas stewed in a smoky broth with onions, garlic and a blend of jalapeño and poblano peppers.
New from Pinkberry is Pinkbee's Cookie Butter Reduced-Fat Milk Ice Cream. The limited-time flavor may be paired with a cookie butter center and topped with a cookie and cookie crumbs, the company said.
