Value-added water innovation

Value-added waters offer hydration with something extra.

Nestle SA

Nestle’s Pure Life brand introduced Fruity Water, a line of beverages for children made with water, natural flavors and electrolytes. Packaged in a 6.75-oz cartons, the beverages are available in three flavors — apple, Tropical Twist and watermelon — and sold in packs of eight, 24 and 32.

Tree Top, Inc.

Tree Top, Inc. launched Fruit+Water, a low sugar beverage containing fruit juice concentrates, water, natural flavors and vitamin C. Flavor varieties include berry, fruit punch, tropical and grape. The new product is packaged in pouches and sold in single-flavor eight-count cartons.

Free Rain

Colin McCabe, co-founder of Chopt Creative Salad Co., launched Free Rain, a line of enhanced sparkling waters.  The beverages contain no added sugars and are available in three flavors, each containing a different adaptogen to improve mental and physical function throughout the day:

Energy contains Siberian ginseng, cherry and lime.

Focus contains ashwagandha, blood orange and warming ginger.

Calm contains passionflower and blackberry.

Treo Brands LLC

Treo Brands LLC’s Fruit & Birch Water is sourced from silver birch trees in New York and Vermont. Other ingredients used in the formulation include sugar, xylitol and flavors.

Treo Fruit & Beverage is available in seven flavors, including peach mango, blueberry, strawberry, kiwi watermelon, raspberry lemonade, coconut pineapple and orange apricot. The beverage is packaged in 16-oz aseptic bottles and sold in single flavor 12-packs and multi-packs consisting of the peach mango, raspberry lemonade and blueberry flavors.

AriZona Beverages

AriZona Beverages launched Sante Fe sparkling waters, a line of low-carb, gluten-free beverages. Made with juice, the sparkling waters contain 20 calories per 20-oz can. Flavors include lemon, pink grapefruit, raspberry lime, orange mango, and a sparkling Arnold Palmer.

Gojai debuted Gojai Organic, its cornerstone line of “gently caffeinated” sparkling waters. The clean label beverages are made from fruit oils and organic unroasted coffee beans. Containing no calories, sugar or preservatives, the energy-boosting sparkling waters come in orange, lemon and grapefruit flavors.

Flow Hydration introduced Flow Collagen-Infused Spring Water. Available in cucumber, watermelon and grapefruit varieties, the beverages contain 10 grams of grass-fed collagen protein per 500-mL carton.
Aprch CBD sparkling water

Aprch

Aprch (Approach) launched a line of CBD sparkling waters. Available in watermelon, Lemon + Lime and Mint + Cucumber flavors, the zero-calorie beverages are free from THC, caffeine, sugar, sodium and GMOs. Each 12-oz can contains 30 mg of broad-spectrum hemp extract along with vitamin C and key amino acids.

Mother Kombucha

Mother Kombucha launched Agua Bucha, a line of kombucha-infused sparkling waters. Available in Key lime, Meyer lemon and grapefruit flavors, the beverages are certified organic and contain 4 calories and 1 gram of sugar per 12-oz can.

Kraft Heinz Co.

The Kraft Heinz Co. debuted Creative Roots, a line of plant-based beverages made with natural ingredients. The child-friendly flavored coconut waters are sweetened with stevia and contains 12 calories and 1 gram of sugar per 8.5-oz serving. Flavors include watermelon, lemonade, peach mango, orange, pineapple and mixed berry.

Aura Bora

Aura Bora entered the sparkling water segment with a line of clean label beverages containing herbs, fruits and flowers. The 12-oz beverages are sugar-free, calorie-free, sodium-free and made with non-GMO ingredients. Flavors include lemongrass coconut, peppermint watermelon, lavender cucumber, basil berry and cactus rose.

Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc.

Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. launched CarryOn through its Lighthouse Innovation Incubator. The new line of CBD sparkling waters is available in two blends, each containing vitamins C and E, no added sugar and 10 calories per 11.5-oz can.

Elevate is a sparkling grapefruit flavor that blends choline for energy and focus with 10 mg of CBD.

Descend is a sparkling blueberry flavor that was designed for relaxation. It contains L-Theanine for calmness and 20 mg of CBD.

Gerber, a subsidiary of Nestle SA, introduced Organic Fruit Infused Water. Made with 94% water, organic fruit puree and natural flavors, the beverages are non-GMO, certified organic. The sugar-free, zero calorie beverages are geared toward toddlers and come in strawberry and cherry flavors.

CBD sparkling water startup Infuzed Brands offers Infuzed Thirst, a line of sugar-free, zero calorie sparkling waters. The beverages contain 10 mg of hemp complex per 12-oz can and are available in lime, mango peach, berry and grapefruit flavors.
