Pumpkin spice headlines seasonal menus, but maple is making in-roads.
Seasonal offerings at Caribou Coffee include the Maple Waffle Sandwich with chicken sausage, gouda and egg between two maple waffles; and Pumpkin Bread, featuring pumpkin loaf cake topped with pecans and pumpkin seeds. Iced, hot and blended beverages include pumpkin white mocha, pumpkin latte, pumpkin chai and pumpkin crafted press.
Dunkin’ marked its earliest-ever return of fall flavors in late August, launching a lineup that includes a new Signature Pumpkin Spice Latte, with pumpkin and vanilla flavors, whipped creme, caramel drizzle and cinnamon sugar topping; and a new Chai Latte blended with spices, including cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg. The seasonal menu also includes apple cider and pumpkin donuts and donut hole treats, a pumpkin muffin and the Maple Sugar Bacon Breakfast Sandwich, with five half-slices of maple sugar seasoned bacon, egg and white cheddar served on a croissant.
Krispy Kreme is rolling out the Pumpkin Spice Doughnut Collection, including four seasonal donuts. The Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut is a yeast donut with pumpkin spice glaze. The Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut is a spiced old-fashioned cake donut with the brand’s signature glaze. The Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Cheesecake Doughnut is a Pumpkin Spiced Original Glazed Doughnut with a cheesecake filling and cheesecake icing. The Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Doughnut is a pumpkin spice donut tossed in pumpkin spice sugar blend and topped with cream cheese icing and cinnamon.
Outback Steakhouse is introducing an updated menu that includes new additions, quality improvements and lower prices. New items include the Bloomin’ Fried Chicken, battered in Bloomin’ Onion seasoning, fried and drizzled with bloom sauce and pickles, onion, lettuce and tomato; Toowoomba Salmon, which is grilled salmon topped with seasoned and sautéed shrimp tossed with mushrooms in a creamy Creole sauce; and the Braised Beef Bonzer-Wich, featuring beef braised in spicy barbecue sauce, topped with cheddar on grilled panini bread and served with steakhouse cheese dipping sauce. Returning items include Aussie Twisted Ribs and the Three Cheese Steak Dip.
The fall menu at Peet’s Coffee includes the new Maple Spice Cold Brew Oat Latte, featuring oat milk and cold-brew coffee, plus the returning Pumpkin Latte and Maple Latte, served hot or iced. An exclusive members-only menu includes the Pumpkin Chai Latte and Pumpkin Caramel Macchiato. Both may be served hot or iced.
Red Mango Yogurt Cafe Smoothie and Juice Bar has partnered with Pitaya Foods to introduce four new Power Bowls made with a superfruit blend and topped with fruits, coconut and granola. Varieties include the Pink Bowl with dragon fruit, the Coconut Acai Bowl, Berries & Acai Bowl and the Hawaiian Bowl, with coconut and banana.
Schlotzsky’s is offering Bacon Bread for a limited time. The brand’s sourdough is tossed with bits of bacon and mild cheddar, then oven-baked into a sandwich bun. Customers may choose bacon bread for any medium sandwich on the menu for one week in September.
Taco Cabana is introducing three new loaded queso options. Available in small or large sizes, combinations include queso with corn, cotija cheese and hot sauce; queso with chorizo, beans and jalapeños; and queso with ground beef and pico de gallo.
The new Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger at Wendy’s features a pretzel bun topped with beef, Muenster cheese, applewood smoked bacon, honey mustard, beer cheese sauce, crispy fried onions and pickles.
Tim Hortons is launching its pumpkin spice product lineup, including a Pumpkin Spice Muffin, Pumpkin Spice Glaze Donut, Pumpkin Spice Timbits donut holes and the new Pumpkin Spice Dream Donut, a pumpkin spice ring donut covered with frosting, vanilla buttercream, graham cracker topping and pumpkin spice syrup drizzle. Beverages include the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which may be served hot or iced, and the Pumpkin Spice Iced Capp, a sweet, cold beverage with pumpkin spice syrup, whipped cream and a pumpkin spice syrup drizzle.
Domino’s Pizza has added a pair of specialty pizzas. Domino’s Chicken Taco Pizza has American cheese, taco seasoning, grilled chicken, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, provolone and cheddar cheese. Domino’s Cheeseburger Pizza is topped with a ketchup-mustard sauce, American cheese, beef, onions, tomatoes, provolone and cheddar cheese.
