Dessert mashups debut ahead of the holidays.
Seasonal offerings at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store include the new Cinnamon Roll Pie Breakfast, which has eggs, bacon or sausage, fried apples or hashbrown casserole and a slice of cinnamon roll pie, featuring cinnamon rolls baked inside a pie crust and drizzled with sweet cream cheese icing.
A limited-time frozen yogurt at Pinkberry is tiramisu, inspired by the espresso-flavored Italian dessert. The company recommends topping the treat with dark chocolate crisps, a dusting of cocoa powder and whipped cream.
“Our guests love the tiramisu frozen yogurt so much that we knew we had to bring it back into stores for the holidays,” said Melissa Hubbell, senior director of marketing for Kahala Brands, parent company of Pinkberry. “The flavor profile is really authentic to the traditional dessert but can be customized with different toppings to make it your own.”
Seasonal treats at Andy’s Frozen Custard include Pumpkin Pie Concrete, Apple Pie Concrete and Apple Pie Sundae. Each item contains a slice of fresh-baked pie, blended with vanilla frozen custard.
Church’s Chicken is introducing a trio of chicken sandwiches topped with Texas-cut bacon. Available in original, spicy and Smoky Honey-Q, the sandwiches include a chicken breast filet breaded with homestyle seasoning and a hint of buttermilk.
“A natural evolution of our more distinctive menu innovation journey is bringing even bolder, Texas-inspired flavors to our guests,” said Brian Gies, chief marketing officer for Church’s. “Our thicker-cut applewood smoked bacon is unlike any other in quick-service dining, creating a perfect flavor pairing, while still bringing the signature Church’s Texas flair that guests know and love.”
Baja Fresh Mexican Grill is adding two new items featuring carnitas. The Achiote Carnitas Bowl layers rice, black beans or pinto beans, achiote grilled carnitas, onions and poblano peppers, guacamole, pico de gallo salsa, sour cream, pickled red onions and cotija cheese. The Fiery West Style Carnitas Burrito combines jack cheese, pinto beans, pork carnitas, spicy salsa chile de arbol, diced cilantro and avocado slices.
Donatos is rolling out a pair of premium pizzas for a limited time. The Spicy Pepperoni Pizza is topped with 100 pieces of spicy pepperoni, banana peppers, aged smoked provolone and romano cheeses, and crushed red pepper. The 150 Pepperoni Pizza has 150 pieces of crispy heritage pepperoni and aged smoked provolone cheese. The large pizzas are prepared in the brand’s signature edge-to-edge, thin-crust style.
Quiznos is introducing for a limited time the Bison Reuben sandwich, piled with corned bison sourced from High Plains Bison, plus sauerkraut, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing on toasted rye bread.
“While our guests find familiar items appealing, they are also consistently looking for new and adventurous menu items to try,” said Chef Mike Gieseman, director of culinary and innovation for REGO Restaurant Group, which owns Quiznos. “The Bison Reuben provides a unique protein option to the beloved traditional Reuben sandwich. Bison is a tender and flavorful meat that can elevate a well-loved sandwich to new heights.”
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is launching a seasonal menu of holiday offerings including the new Peppermint Mocha Crumble Ice Blended drink. The beverage combines chocolate and peppermint flavors with crunchy cookie pieces. Returning items include the Cookie Butter Latte, Cookie Butter Flavored Coffee and Peppermint Hot Cocoa.
Fast-casual pizza chain Your Pie has unveiled new Craft Series menu selections featuring truffles. The White Truffle Pizza is topped with alfredo sauce, mozzarella, spinach leaves, tomatoes and onions, plus slices of mushrooms sprayed with truffle oil. The Alfredo Truffle Pasta includes alfredo sauce, mozzarella, spinach leaves, tomatoes and onions, plus slices of mushrooms sprayed with truffle oil.
Chili's Grill & Bar is introducing four new Big Mouth Burgers and the Big Mouth Crispy Chicken Sandwich to the menu. The Bacon Rancher has two beef patties, six slices of bacon, ranch, American cheese, sauteed onions and pickles. The Big Bacon BBQ has two beef patties, six slices of bacon, house barbecue sauce, cheddar, red onion and pickles. The BBQ Brisket Burger has brisket, house barbecue sauce, cheddar, pickles and coleslaw. The Chili's Secret Sauce Burger has secret sauce, American cheese, lettuce and sauteed onions. The Big Mouth Crispy Chicken Sandwich features breaded crispy chicken, lettuce, tomato and secret sauce.
