The dynamic duo is making its way into a variety of snacking categories.
Coffee mate added a peanut butter and jelly flavor to its Duo line. The coffee creamer features a salty peanut butter flavor combined with strawberry jelly.
Oat bar company Bobo’s added a new snack line to its portfolio, PB&J’s. The snack, which is the company’s take on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, features a peanut butter oat crust with a grape or strawberry jam filling. The PB&J’s are gluten-free, soy-free and kosher and are formulated with 17 grams of whole grain oats.
“It’s been an exciting few months for us and we’re particularly thrilled about this latest innovation,” said TJ Mcintyre, chief executive officer at Bobo’s. “Shelf stable PB&J’s has always been a category in which we know we can thrive and it’s very rewarding to finally bring this entirely new line to market.”
ONE Brands, a brand from the Hershey Co., added a limited-edition protein bar in a peanut butter and jelly flavor. The bar features 20 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar, with the flavor of peanut butter and strawberry jelly.
“With this new limited edition ONE bar flavor, we are hoping to transport consumers back to the summer of their youth, enjoying a classic PB&J at camp, on the road, or during those long summer days off of school,” said Michael Reese, head of marketing at ONE Brands when the product was released. “Our innovative flavor team has hit it out of the park, yet again, with this newest delicious flavor that we are confident customers will love.”
Red’s All Natural added a PB&J’Wich to its portfolio. Red’s PB&J’Wiches feature a layer of peanut butter, a layer of grape jelly or strawberry jelly, all served on a bun.
Perfect Snacks added a Perfect Bar Layers line, which features a peanut butter and berry flavor. The bar is formulated with a base of blended peanut and cashew butters, quinoa and honey, a layer of fruit spread and a sprinkle of gluten-free oats on top.
Health and wellness brand Alani Nu launched a revamped line of protein bars, which features a peanut butter and jelly flavor. The bars contain 15 to 17 grams of protein per serving and are 220 calories or less.
