SONOMA, CALIF. — Plant-based dairy brand Miyoko’s Creamery has debuted a line of cheese spreads formulated from cashew milk.

The spreads are made using traditional cheesemaking techniques and are kosher, certified organic and free from soy, palm oil and gluten. Miyoko’s product can act as a flexible topping option for various snacks, an alternative dairy ingredient to blend into sauces or an easy flavor enhancement for homecooked meals, according to the company.

“As Americans continue to actively look for ways to reduce meat and dairy consumption, the spreads are a perfect next step in our product development as we continue to strive to bring fresh excitement into the category,” said Rebecca Infusino, chief customer officer at Miyoko’s Creamery. “Whether you’re looking to elevate your game-night snacking or need a sauce starter for dinner, the Plant Milk Cheese Spreads are a versatile, delicious product that everyone will enjoy.”

Joining Miyoko’s plant-based butter, cream cheese and artisan cheese products, the spreads are launching in four varieties: Roadhouse Cheddar, sundried tomato, classic chive and garlic herb. The product is rolling out into national retailers like Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market and Natural Grocers in 8-oz containers for a suggested retail price of $6.49.
