SADDLE BROOKE, NJ. — Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods has developed two new plant-based burger products with a crunchy texture.

The Crunchy Cauliflower Veggie Burger and Crunchy Southwestern Sweet Potato Burger are each formulated from six vegetables and a short list of vegan, gluten-free ingredients. The vegetable burgers contain 160 calories or less per serving of the 2.5-oz patty, along with 3 grams of protein, no cholesterol and under 7 grams of total fat. Dr. Praeger’s created the crunchy alternatives in response to consumer complaints about texture within the plant-based category.

“At Dr. Praeger’s, we’re constantly striving to innovate and give consumers what they want,” said Joe Wilbeck, brand marketing director at Dr. Praeger’s. “They asked for improved texture and we delivered, all without compromising the integrity of Dr. Praeger’s veggie-forward DNA and cleaner ingredient label.”

The burgers join Dr. Praeger’s portfolio of frozen seafood, hash browns and vegetable-based appetizers and entrees. Both varieties are now available in 4-count packages in nationwide retailers like Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Publix and more.
