BEAVER DAM, WIS. — Conagra Brands has filed a letter with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development signaling its intent to close its facility in Beaver Dam. The facility processes Birds Eye frozen foods.

Conagra plans to halt production at the plant on June 10, with warehouse operations continuing until Jan. 3, 2025. The closing will impact 252 employees.

“We continually evaluate our overall network of food production facilities to ensure that we are operating as effectively and efficiently as possible so we can remain competitive as a company,” said Daniel Hare, spokesperson for Conagra. “We have determined that we can continue to meet the needs of the business by making these products in fewer facilities.

“This decision is not a reflection of the overall performance of our Beaver Dam team. We are committed to treating our employees respectfully and fairly throughout this transition, and we will offer severance benefits to employees.”

The Beaver Dam facility was built in 1972 and became part of Conagra when the company acquired Pinnacle Foods in 2018.
