EVOL Foods introduces new frozen meals

BOULDER, COLO. — EVOL Foods is bringing new innovation to the frozen meal sector with the addition of MultiServe Skillet Meals and Lean & Fit single-serve meals. MultiServe skillet entrees may be heated up and ready to go in 10 minutes and come in six flavors, including: uncured bacon mac and cheese, Thai style curry chicken, teriyaki chicken, grilled chicken Parmesan, chicken tikka masala, and butternut squash and sage ravioli. MultiServe Skillet Meals will be sold for a suggested retail price of $6.99 to $8.49. The new line of single-serve Lean & Fit meals all come in under 300 calories and include four flavors: teriyaki chicken, lemongrass chicken, chicken tandoori, and chicken penne pomodoro. Lean & Fit Meals will be sold for a suggested retail price of $3.99 to $4.99. EVOL Foods MultiServe Skillet Meals and Lean & Fit Meals are available nationwide at Target, Harris Teter, and other select grocery stores.

Krispy Kreme offers ready-to-drink iced coffee

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The taste of Krispy Kreme coffee may be enjoyed at home or on-the-go with the new original glazed and mocha bottled ice coffee drinks. Both flavors start with a base of Krispy Kreme’s signature coffee with a hint of the original glazed or mocha flavoring. The 9.5-oz bottled iced coffee drinks are available for a suggested retail price of $1.98 at over 900 Wal-Mart Stores locations nationwide.

Nature Valley launches three new products for active lifestyles

MINNEAPOLIS — Nature Valley, a business unit of General Mills, Inc., is fueling active lifestyles with new on-the-go products, including breakfast biscuits, Greek yogurt protein bars, and cranberry almond protein granola. The breakfast biscuits are offered in both a blueberry and honey flavor.  Four-biscuit servings pack in 26 grams of whole grains. Both flavors are sold for a suggested retail price of $3.89 for a box of five servings. Greek yogurt protein bars contain fruit, peanuts, and almond pieces to provide 10 grams of protein per serving. The bars come in two varieties: mixed berry and strawberry. Greek yogurt protein bars are available for a suggested retail price of $4.19 for a five-bar box. Nature Valley bagged protein granola is now being offered in cranberry almond in addition to Oats ‘n Honey and Oats ‘n Dark Chocolate. Cranberry almond protein granola offers 10 grams of protein and at least 22 grams of whole grain per serving. All three flavors of protein granola are available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4.49 for an 11-oz bag.

Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt launches five new flavors

BOSTON — Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt is adding to its frozen yogurt bar line with five new flavors: peanut butter cup, mint chocolate chip, chocolate fudge, dark chocolate raspberry, and sea salt caramel. The peanut butter cup variety includes creamy peanut butter and chocolate for only 130 calories. Mint chocolate chip mixes together a cool mint flavor sprinkled with chocolate chips. The chocolate fudge combines creamy Greek yogurt and cocoa, while the dark chocolate raspberry adds in dark chocolate coating. For only 100 calories, the sea salt caramel flavor includes a lightly salted caramel swirl. The bars are available in 3-oz and 3.5-oz packs of four with larger packs being offered at select club stores. All flavors will be available at a suggested retail price of $4.99 to $5.49.

Baskin-Robbins teams up with Boardwalk Frozen Treats to launch packaged ice cream

CANTON, MASS. — Baskin-Robbins and Boardwalk Frozen Treats are partnering up to introduce packaged ice cream and ice cream bars to the retail sector. Offered in a variety of flavors, the Baskin-Robbins 14-oz ice cream packages come in pralines and cream, mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, Jamoca Almond Fudge, Gold Medal Ribbon, butter pecan, berry strawberry, chocolate chip, peanut butter and chocolate, coconut, and Rocky Road. In addition, seasonal flavors such as strawberry shortcake will be featured. The ice cream bars will be sold in the classic varieties such as chocolate and mint. The packaged ice cream and bars will be available at major retailers nationwide.

Skinnygirl and SodaStream partner to create new line of low-calorie and naturally sweetened flavors

Post Foods rolls out Great Grains Digestive Blend cereals

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Post Foods, L.L.C. is introducing a cereal filled with whole grains, natural fiber and active cultures. The new ingredient cereal blend includes wheat, barley, rolled oats, multi-grain flakes, and real berry juice and comes in two flavors: berry medley and vanilla graham. Each one-cup serving offers 7 grams of fiber and 41 grams of whole grains. “Research shows 9 out of 10 Americans are not getting enough fiber in their diets,” said Mark Izzo, vice-president of research, development and innovations at Post Foods. “We developed Great Grains Digestive Blend cereals with fiber, active cultures and more than 85% of the daily recommended amount of whole grains per serving — three key ingredients to help support digestive health and help people feel more balanced from the inside out.”

Tyson Foods launches breakfast line with Tyson Day Starts

SPRINGDALE, ARK. — Tyson Foods is introducing a line of breakfast offerings called Tyson Day Starts. The selection includes biscuit sandwiches, breakfast flatbreads, and wrapped omelets that may be ready to eat in less than two minutes. Some of the flavor varieties include classic sausage, egg and cheese biscuits, wrapped cheese omelets, and bacon, egg, and cheese flatbread sandwiches. All items are packed with up to 27 grams of protein per serving. Tyson Day Starts freezer sandwiches are available for purchase at leading food retailers.

Sunsweet introduces Greek style PlumSweets

YUBA CITY, CALIF. — In an effort to capitalize on the Greek yogurt trend, Sunsweet is launching Greek style PlumSweets, which are diced dried plums with a Greek yogurt coating. PlumSweets are only 180 calories per quarter cup. Greek style PlumSweets are available in 6-oz packages in test markets in northern California and the East coast at retailers such as A&P, Ahold, Giant Eagle, and Raley’s.

DALLAS — Stacy’s Pita Chip Co. is adding Pretzel Thins to the selection of baked snacks. The pretzels offer a crispy texture and come in two varieties: Simply Naked and honey Dijon. Simply Naked features a touch of sea salt and the honey dijon flavor is sweetened with organic honey. Stacy’s Pretzel Thins are made without artificial colors or flavors and don’t contain trans-fat.

Endangered Species Chocolate adds dairy and gluten-free filled bars to lineup

INDIANAPOLIS — In an effort to accommodate gluten and dairy sensitive chocolate consumers, Endangered Species is introducing dairy and gluten-free chocolate bars. The 72% dark chocolate bars offer fillings such as almond butter crème, sea salt and lime crème, coconut crème, blueberry vanilla crème, raspberry orange crème, and lavender mint crème. All bars are Non-G.M.O. Verified, gluten-free, and vegan certified. In addition, they feature ethically traded, sustainably-grown chocolate.
