New from Starbucks Corp. is Starbucks Pairings, a new line of at-home coffee products designed to pair with specific foods and flavor profiles. Available in both K-Cup and ground coffee formats, Starbucks Pairings come in three blends.
The Sweet Mornings Blend is a medium roast coffee that features flavors of dusted cocoa and dried fruit. The coffee was designed to pair with pastries, yogurt, cereal and other sweet breakfast foods.
The Savory Mornings Blend is a medium roast coffee that is smooth with hints of fresh herbs. It was crafted to pair with omelets, bacon, avocado toast and other savory breakfast items.
The Dessert Blend is a medium roast coffee that delivers notes of candied ginger and orange zest. The coffee was created to pair with chocolate, cheesecake, fruit pies and other desserts.
PepsiCo, Inc.’s Cap’n Crunch cereal is adding two varieties. Cotton Candy Crunch has blue and pink sweetened corn and oat cereal puffs that taste like cotton candy. Each one-cup serving contains 110 calories and 13 grams of sugar.
Red, White & Blue Crunch contains red, white and blue cereal puffs and has 150 calories and 17 grams of sugar per 1.25-cup serving.
Kind Healthy Snacks is sticking to simple ingredients with its newest line of snack bars. Kind Simple Crunch Bars are gluten-free, non-genetically engineered and feature whole grains oats as the No. 1 ingredient. All three varieties contain 10 ingredients or fewer and 180 calories per two-bar serving.
The Oats & Honey Simple Crunch Bar contains seven ingredients: oats, cane sugar, canola oil, honey, tapioca syrup, sea salt and cinnamon.
The Peanut Butter Simply Crunch Bar contains eight ingredients: oats, cane sugar, peanuts, honey, canola oil, tapioca syrup, peanut oil and salt.
The Dark Chocolate & Oats Bar contains 10 ingredients: oats, cane sugar, canola oil, honey, tapioca syrup, cocoa powder, unsweetened chocolate, sea salt, vanilla extract and cocoa butter.
Perdue Farms is launching a new line of chicken products blended with vegetables. The Chicken Plus nuggets, tenders and patties feature blends of cauliflower, chickpeas and plant protein combined with white meat chicken. Perdue Chicken Plus is available in panko dinosaur-shaped nuggets, crispy rice tenders and panko patties.
Optimum Nutrition, a Glanbia P.L.C. brand, is launching a new line of plant-based protein bites. New Nature Bites snack cakes feature whipped plant-based protein composed of hydrolyzed pea protein, brown rice protein and sacha inchi protein all enrobed in dark chocolate. Each two-piece serving contains 210 calories or fewer and provides 14 grams of plant-based protein, 6 grams of sugar and 26 grams of carbohydrates. The gluten-free, non-G.M.O. bites come in four flavors: dark chocolate truffle, chocolate coconut, chocolate mint and dark chocolate sea salt.
