SAN FRANCISCO — Eat Just, Inc., maker of Just Egg, is partnering with food companies around the world to expand availability of the plant-based egg substitute across North America, Latin America, Europe and East Asia.

Companies included in the partnership are SPC Samlip, Seoul, South Korea; Betagro Group, Bangkok; Grupo Bimbo, Mexico City; Alianza Team, Bogota, Colombia; and Delivery Hero, Berlin. Eat Just also partners with Eurovo Group, a European egg producer, and PHW Group, Germany’s largest poultry producer. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Just Egg is based on mung beans and scrambles and tastes like a conventional egg, according to the company. Under terms of the partnerships, Eat Just supplies its protein to companies that manufacture and distribute the finished product.

“Our ability to scale to meet the demand is our main focus in 2020,” said Josh Tetrick, co-founder and chief executive officer. “It's humbling to see some of the world's most influential food companies join us to meet the challenge. We've come to have an enormous amount of respect for their approach to innovation and commitment to building a stronger, healthier food system.”

Additionally, Eat Just announced the addition of Jacob R. Robbins as a board member and Dana Hollinger as a board observer and adviser. Mr. Robbins is the CEO of Emeterra, a food and agribusiness company, and previously he was managing director of global sweeteners at Coca-Cola Co.
