CHICAGO — Dirt Kitchen Snacks, a brand developed by Mondelez International’s SnackFutures division, is adding a carrot-based chip alternative to its line of vegetable snacks for health-conscious consumers.

The Air Dried Carrot Crisps are coated in olive oil and a smoky barbeque seasoning and contain 35 calories per serving, The product is vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free and kosher, with no artificial flavors or preservatives.

“Our mission is to make real, recognizable veggies into irresistibly delicious snacks, to help people get more veggies into their lives,” said Katrina Borisjuk, head of marketing for Dirt Kitchen Snacks. “Our customers — especially those who care about eating clean and are actively trying to manage their weight — love our crisps and asked us to create more veggie options with bold flavors. We looked to the salty snack category for flavor inspiration and landed on a smoky barbeque seasoning because it pairs perfectly with the natural sweetness of our air-dried crunchy carrots.”

Dirt Kitchen’s carrot crisps join its existing snack portfolio that includes zucchini crisps, grape tomato crisps and blushed bell pepper crisps. The company also offers dried vegetable and nut combinations and pressed bars made from fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
