SAN FRANCISCO — Kikkoman Sales USA, Inc. is launching its first soy sauce alternative, Kikkoman Umami Joy Sauce, this year.
Designed to bring a soy-free umami flavor to marinades, stir-frys, sushi and more, the condiment is formulated using only three ingredients: fermented tomato extract, salt and water. Joy Sauce is also non-GMO, gluten-free and wheat free and contains no added preservatives or high-fructose corn syrup.
The sauce joins the company’s growing line of allergen-friendly condiments, including various gluten-free soy, tamari, teriyaki, oyster and chili sauces.
Kikkoman’s latest product is expected to roll out in retail locations sometime later this year.
