KANSAS CITY — Recent introductions to retail locations across the United States are featuring spicy flavors as brands refresh for the new year.

Doritos, a brand from PepsiCo Inc.’s Frito-Lay North America division, is launching Doritos Dinamita, a line extension featuring rolled chips. Doritos Dinamita will make its commercial debut at Super Bowl LVIII with five flavors: chile limón, flamin’ hot queso, smoky chile queso, fiery lime and hot honey mustard.

“Doritos has a long history of delivering fan-favorite Super Bowl commercials, but new pack-a-punch flavors, unique shapes and some spicy stars will make Dinamita’s Super Bowl commercial a campaign that will get snackers across the country buzzing like never before,” said Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing at PepsiCo Foods North America. “This relaunch of Doritos Dinamita proves that spicy is about more than just heat, and both Dinamita varieties give snackers looking for that extra crunch a new favorite Doritos form.”

Hippeas launched Flavor Blast! Chickpea Puffs in two flavors: vegan white cheddar explosion and blazin’ hot. The snacks feature 3 to 4 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per 1-oz serving.

Specialty condiment brand Truff is expanding its like of hot sauces with its new jalapeño lime product. The sauce features a blend of green jalapeño peppers, lime and Truff’s namesake ingredient, black winter truffle. In November 2023, SKYY Partners, a private equity firm founded by Kim Kardashian and Jay Simmons, agreed to acquire a “significant minority stake” in the brand. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024.
