PLAINSBORO, NJ. —  DSM-Firmenich has opened a pilot plant in Plainsboro, NJ., to collaborate with food and beverage brands to enable them to produce and quickly scale their food and beverage products.

The facility, which as part of its taste, texture and health business unit, will focus on producing beverages in such applications as juices, ready-to-drink coffee and tea, sports beverages, carbonated soft beverages, sparkling water, energy beverages, as well as dairy and plant-based products like milks, creamers, and protein shakes, according to the company.

The facility is located adjacent to the company’s development labs as well as its consumer sensory lab and focus group room. There also is a conference room with a view of the facility.
