TEL AVIV, ISRAEL — Israeli-based food tech startup Blue Tree Technologies Ltd. has received a “self-affirmed FDA food safe status” from the US Food and Drug Administration for its sugar reduction technology system for food and food contact materials, according to the company.

The company, which was co-founded in 2017 by Didier Toubia Yuval Klein, said it is planning to license its system for juice manufacturers to produce better-for-you, sugar-reduced fruit juices and dairy beverages.

The company’s sugar reduction system physically and selectively removes sugar from natural fruit juice and milk without using sugar substitutes or chemicals, according to the company.

The company is planning to work with juice manufacturers in the coming months.
