CHICAGO — Enjoy Life Foods, a manufacturer of certified gluten-free and Non-GMO Project verified foods, has opened a new baking facility in Jeffersonville, Ind.

The 200,000-square-foot plant features modernized production capacity for producing and packaging all of Enjoy Life’s baked free-from products, including cookies, snack bars, chocolate bars, baking chocolate, baking mixes and savory snacks. The bakery’s products will be shipped throughout the United States as well as to a number of global markets, including Canada, South Africa, Israel, Mexico and Singapore.

“This is a historic milestone for our company and for the allergy-friendly community as a whole,” said Joel Warady, chief marketing and innovation officer at Enjoy Life Foods. “With our new bakery, we have the opportunity to provide our many loyal fans with delicious free-from products they have come to know and love. Having the largest dedicated allergy-friendly bakery in North America also allows us to further grow our operations to provide even more great-tasting products to families across the U.S. and Canada, while expanding our reach to people seeking allergy-friendly food options around the world.”

Earlier this year, Enjoy Life said it would close its facility in Schiller Park, Ill., during the third quarter of fiscal 2016 and transfer production to the new plant in Jeffersonville. The new plant will triple the company’s square footage compared to its former plant in Schiller Park and quintuple production capacity, Mr. Warady said earlier this year.

Founded in 2001 by Scott Mandell, Enjoy Life is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mondelez International, which acquired the company in 2015. Enjoy Life Foods launched its first 12 products in 2002.
