NEW YORK — Jarlsberg Cheese is rolling out snack-size cheese snacks. Each 20-gram snack is 70 calories and packed in cellophane.
Stonyfield and Happy Family introduce organic yogurt pouches
LONDONBERRY, N.H. — Stonyfield and Happy Family are collaborating to debut YoBaby, YoTot, and YoKids squeeze yogurt pouches. YoBaby yogurt pouches are suitable for babies six months and older and feature whole milk yogurt enhanced with DHA, EPA, and omega-3 fatty acids. YoBaby is available in 3.4-oz pouches in flavors such as blueberry, mango, sweet potato and vanilla. Each pouch offers 100 calories and 3 grams of fat. The YoTot yogurt pouches are available in 3.7-oz pouches and come in flavors such as pear spinach mango and strawberry beet berry. Each pouch packs in 110 to 120 calories and 3.5 grams of fat depending on the flavor. YoKids yogurt pouches are available in three flavors: blueberry, strawberry and strawberry banana. The 3.7-oz pouches contain 110 calories and 2 grams of fat.
Snickers debuts new candy bar
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars, Inc. is adding to its Snickers brand with the launch of Snickers Xtreme. Snickers Xtreme features a layer blend of roasted peanuts and caramel covered in milk chocolate. The new bar will be available in 2015 at retailers nationwide.
Dunkin’ Donuts rolls out new coffee flavors
CANTON, MASS. — Dunkin’ Donuts is expanding the coffee line with new french vanilla and hazelnut swirls. The permanent flavor additions offer a way for consumers to customize coffee drinks. “Dunkin’ Donuts offers more than 15,000 ways to customize your coffee, and we’re thrilled to expand our lineup with the addition of the new french vanilla and hazelnut swirls,” said Jeff Miller, executive chef and vice-president of culinary innovation for Dunkin’ Brands. “As the nation’s No. 1 retailer of hot and iced flavored coffee, we are committed to offering our guests multiple choices to personalize their favorite coffee beverage, from our full lineup of unsweetened and sugar-free flavor shots, to our sweet, more indulgent flavor swirls.” In addition, consumers can enjoy french vanilla and hazelnut coffee flavors at home with packaged coffee bags sold for a suggested retail price of $8.99 and Keurig K-Cup packs for a suggested retail price of $9.99.
Pillsbury launches fruit strudel
MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills, Inc. is introducing a new Pillsbury toaster strudel packed with fruit. The fruit addition is part of the “More Fruit” campaign. Toaster Strudel is working on this in partnership with Halfbrick, the makers of the Fruit Ninja app.
Applegate adds organic lunch kit
BIRDGEWATER, N.J. — Applegate is rolling out Half Time snack kits. The kits are available in three varieties: turkey and cheese, bologna and cheese, and ham and cheese. The kits have no artificial ingredients, preservatives, hormones, or antibiotics. The meals combine Stonyfield yogurts, Applegate meats and cheeses, and Annie’s organic fruit snacks and crackers. Each Half Time kit is sold nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4.99.
Hillshire Farm launches line of lunchmeat
CHICAGO — Hillshire Farm, a business unit of The Hillshire Brands Co., is introducing Hillshire Farm Naturals lunchmeat. The line features slow-roasted and seasoned meat without artificial ingredients, colors or preservatives. In addition, the lunchmeat doesn’t contain nitrites or nitrates. The line includes four varieties: slow-roasted turkey breast, hardwood smoked turkey breast, honey-roasted ham, and black forest ham. The lunchmeat is sold nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4.48 per package.
Progresso innovates with packaged homemade chili
MINNEAPOLIS — Progresso, a business unit of General Mills, Inc., is heating things up with the addition of homemade chili. The new chili offerings feature flavors such as smokehouse pork and beef with beans and southwest style white chicken with beans. The smokehouse pro and beef variety features Andouille sausage, beef, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and pinto and red kidney beans. The southwest style white chicken chili offers a mix of chicken, white beans, green sweet peppers, tomatillos and onions. Progresso chili is available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $4.49 per 20-oz pouch.
Oscar Mayer expands with jerky snack
MADISON, WIS. — Oscar Mayer is adding bacon jerky in two flavors: bourbon barbecue and teriyaki ginger. The bacon jerky on-the-go pouches contain 11 grams per serving. The 3-oz packages are available nationwide.
Al fresco debuts frozen breakfast chicken sausage
CHELSEA, MASS. — Al fresco is adding frozen breakfast chicken sausage to its line of frozen products. The chicken sausage is made from skinless chicken meat and is gluten- and pork-free. The chicken sausage is available in varieties such as country style and apple maple. Country style features sage and thyme while the apple maple variety features Vermont maple syrup.
Old London Melba launches Toasts Ancient Grain products
PARSIPPANY, N.J.— Old London Melba is unveiling a new product offering called Toasts Ancient Grains. The twice-baked snacks contain 60 calories per serving and pack in millet, amaranth, buckwheat and quinoa. In addition, the Old London Melba snacks contain no fat or cholesterol.
