KANSAS CITY — Spring menus are looking sweet, as new limited-edition items fall into the dessert category.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers added a limited-edition dessert to its menus, the Twix salted caramel concrete. The new concrete features vanilla frozen concrete blended with chopped Twix Cookie bars, crushed pretzels and a caramel sauce.

“Freddy’s guests love the combination of chocolate and caramel, making Twix a perfect fit for our newest offer,” said Laura Rueckel, chief marketing officer. “The Twix salted caramel concrete is a delicious creation featuring pieces of chopped Twix Cookie bars that add delightful bites of crisp, shortbread cookie mixed with smooth and creamy frozen custard.”

Wendy’s is heading in the fruity direction with the introduction of the orange dreamsicle Frosty to its lineup. The Frosty features notes of a sweet orange flavor combined with a vanilla flavor.

“We continue to see so much passion from our customers to try new, seasonal Frosty flavors,” said Lindsay Radkoski, US chief marketing officer for The Wendy’s Co. “With orange dreamsicle Frosty, we’re building even more Frosty fandom with our first ever spring-inspired Frosty flavor.”

In celebration of the upcoming total North American solar eclipse, Sonic Drive-In is launching a blackout slush float, which features a cotton candy and dragon fruit-flavored all-black slush, topped with white soft serve and blue and purple galaxy-themed sprinkles.

“There are over 400 Sonic locations in areas where the total solar eclipse will be visible, and we thought, what better way to create some fun for our fans as they experience this unique event than by introducing a new treat that’s as awe-inspiring as the eclipse itself,” said Mackenzie Gibson, vice president of culinary and menu innovation at Sonic.
